This afternoon (1 April 2021) Allied Press was contacted by Government cyber security organisation Cert NZ about a data breach affecting its ODT Archive service.
No other Allied Press services, including the ODT E-Edition or the ODT.co.nz website, have been breached.
We are taking the data breach very seriously and took immediate steps to rectify the situation, which included informing those affected and taking the service offline.
If you have any further questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org
The ODT Archive (https://digital.odt.co.nz) service which is currently used by a small number of customers has been the victim of a cyber attack.
This was a breach of the ODT Archive system only. There is no evidence to suggest the E-Edition or the ODT.co.nz website have been breached.
Name, email address, encrypted password, phone number and address details.
Allied Press was informed by Government cyber security organisation Cert NZ of the possible data breach on Thursday afternoon, 1 April 2021.
On Thursday afternoon Allied Press identified which service was attacked and immediately took down the ODT archive service. We contacted those affected.
All users affected will have been sent an email from Allied Press alerting them to the breach.
If you have used for the ODT Archive service and your password is the same as the one that you use for other websites or services, as a precaution we recommend you change those passwords.
We cannot advise you at this stage when the service will come back online, but you will receive an email when further information becomes available.
Email email@example.com and we will endeavour to respond as soon as practical.
